ArtiFlex Acquires General Die and Engineering
September 24, 2024
General Die and Engineering has been acquired by ArtiCast Tool and Manufacturing, LLC, a member of the ArtiFlex Manufacturing family of companies. GD&E is a well-respected leader in the engineering and manufacturing of large complex high-pressure die cast dies, plastic injection molds, as well as other mold tooling, and is located in Grand Rapids, MI. This strategic move will enhance ArtiFlex capabilities, expand product offerings, and strengthen its position in the market.
General Die & Engineering will continue to be led by Chuck Kukulis whose team brings with them a wealth of expertise, and deep knowledge that enables the use of large complex castings. ArtiFlex CEO, Erin Hoffmann stated, “By joining
forces, we’re positioned to provide even greater value to our customers, especially with the ability to build die-cast dies for large high pressure die-cast aluminum, magnesium, and molded structural parts. The structure of the vehicle of the future, both EV and Hybrid, is likely a combination of stamping and castings. We’re excited to accelerate that transition and help OEMs drive innovation.”
The ArtiFlex team is excited to add the engineering talent, capabilities and technologies of GD&E to further enable mass and cost-optimized closure and structural assemblies for future vehicles. The ArtiFlex team will continue to innovate in process, tooling, and manufacturing through its uniquely collaborative business model.
